My Story

My name is Kashena Manuel and I’m just a girl that loved hair from a very young age. You can say it was my gift. As early as age 6 to age 9 I share the art of hair styles on my dolls, my younger siblings and whom every would allow me to play in their hair. By age 12, I was braiding and styling hair on a semi professional level, semi because I was much too young to be a professional, however I was booking adult clients on the regular. I was doing braids, updos, Sculpture ponytails and even Jerry Curls. I love EVERYTHING about hair, how versatile hair was, how it grew and how the different textures could achieve different styles was fascinating to me.

After high school, I enrolled in Baton Rouge Beauty College in Louisiana and within a year I was a licensed hairstylist. In my 28 years as a Stylist, I have completed several trainings and certification from Velma B Beauty College, Metro Beauty Schools where I learn to cut and coloring on diverse clients.

Braiding (as if I needed that one), micros, interlocking, dreads, micro locks, twists, crochet, tree braids, etc…

Hair extensions, sew-ins, Tape-in hair extensions, Fusion (pre-bonded), and Wig making

Over the years of embracing my passion in and out of the salon including Hair shows and competitions. I’ve gained knowledgeable insight on how to maintain and service my client’s healthy hair and scalp needs and getting the best outcome became my top priority.

My Beautiful K journey began in 2008, when my daughter was age 14 she started experiences scalp irritation which caused extreme dandruff issues, hair loss, thinning, rash-like symptoms around the perimeter of the hair and split ends. After several unsuccessful trips to the doctor and dermatologist and trying different products, lend me to researching natural alternatives. Using information gathered from those visits and products that did not work such as commercial and prescription products and in some cases, steroids treatments.  All was a temporary fix nothing permanent. I start researching different herbs and natural treatments and wash from many different sources. I soon learned my daughter’s sensitive scalp and soft curly lock could not handle chemicals and harsh ingredients in products, professional and over the counters. Because of the extreme damage She had to do the BIG CHOP! She was alone I did it too. After using my homemade shampoo, conditioner, hair cream and treatments, our hair and scalp irritation quickly became a thing in the past. I introduce the product to Family, friends and clients whom shared similar experiences and some greater, they fell in love with the products.

As an African American Woman, I love how embracing my nature hair as a Stylist has been so inspirational to my clients and others that want to go natural but didn’t have a clue on how too. And I have made a product that have the transition as well as the maintenance.
